In the scorching August, the wheat waves undulated in the gentle breeze, and the smell of harvest filled the fields. Uncle Wang was happily preparing to use his John Deere 904 tractor for the final rush - harvest. But soon after starting, the hydraulic system of the tractor made a worrying "creak" sound. The lifting of the agricultural implements became slow and unstable, and Uncle Wang's smile froze instantly. After a careful inspection by the maintenance master, the culprit turned out to be the gear pump - the core component of the tractor's hydraulic system, which was aging and damaged.
John Deere 1204 and 904 tractors are mainstay models in agricultural production. However, after long-term high-intensity operations, the gear pumps are prone to aging and damage, leading to hydraulic system failures. Existing compatible gear pumps on the market either have mismatched performance or are expensive, causing troubles for farmers. KICAN company targeted this pain point and developed the parsle series Apollo 1204 and 904 model gear pumps, benchmarking against the Italian Casappa gear pumps, customized specifically for the above-mentioned John Deere models to solve the adaptation problem.

The engineers got a Casappa gear pump and took it apart little by little to study, just like taking apart a toy. Everything from the overall structure to the shape of a gear tooth was measured with a ruler and analyzed with computer modeling. They found that the reason why Casappa is powerful is that the gear meshing is particularly smooth and the material is wear - resistant. But it is not without shortcomings. For example, there is room for improvement in terms of rapid response.
At present, this customized gear pump has passed the John Deere agricultural machinery parts certification system and has become the designated replacement part for more than 200 agricultural machinery cooperatives across the country, redefining the adaptation standards of core agricultural machinery parts with technical data.
